Our client is a respected player within the business and commercial short‑term insurance space. This confidential Provincial Manager role is responsible for leading all commercial, operational, and people‑related activities within the assigned province(s), with accountability for profitable growth, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping provincial strategy, expanding market presence, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service through a capable and motivated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute provincial business strategy aligned with overall organisational objectives.
- Drive revenue and profitability through new business acquisition, client retention, and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Identify growth opportunities while monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing insurance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent; ensure effective succession planning and skills development.
- Manage provincial budgets, control costs, and optimise operational efficiency.
- Monitor financial, operational, and sales KPIs, implementing corrective action where needed.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, risk, governance, and market conduct requirements.
- Oversee service delivery, claims escalation, and quality assurance to ensure a consistently strong client experience.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field (required).
- FAIS Accreditation: Short‑Term Commercial Lines (1.6 Rep & KI) (required).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience within short‑term insurance, including broking sales and portfolio management.
- Proven experience leading and developing insurance teams.
- Strong commercial, financial, and risk management capability.
- Track record of achieving revenue and profitability targets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
