A leading
manufacturing and engineering group based in Johannesburg North is seeking a commercially focused
Group FP&A Manager to join its finance leadership team. Reporting directly to the
Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in driving financial planning, forecasting, commercial analysis, and performance management across multiple entities.
This is a highly visible position that offers significant exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision-making. You'll be responsible for providing meaningful insights that support profitability, guide investment decisions, and help shape the organisation's long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes across the group.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Conduct scenario analysis and evaluate the financial impact of business initiatives.
- Deliver insightful analysis on revenue, profitability, costs, and operational performance.
- Monitor business performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Act as a strategic finance partner to operational and executive leadership teams.
- Support pricing strategies, profitability enhancement initiatives, and margin optimisation projects.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive commercial performance.
- Challenge assumptions and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
- Partner with business units to improve forecasting accuracy and financial accountability.
Management Reporting & Executive Insights
- Prepare executive reporting packs, dashboards, and performance reviews.
- Analyse key business drivers and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and performance measurement frameworks.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations.
Strategic Analysis & Growth Initiatives
- Conduct financial due diligence and commercial analysis on new opportunities.
- Evaluate investment proposals, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Support business expansion and growth strategies through financial modelling and business case development.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.
Process Improvement & Reporting Optimisation
- Drive improvements in FP&A processes, reporting structures, and analytical capabilities.
- Enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and decision-support frameworks.
- Support the implementation of new tools, systems, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Develop scalable reporting solutions that support future business growth.
Requirements
Qualifications
- CIMA qualified preferred, alternatively a BCom Degree with completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles.
Experience
- 3-4 years' experience within:
- FP&A
- Commercial Finance
- Financial Analysis
- Management Accounting
- Strategic Finance
- Experience within the manufacturing, engineering, construction, industrial, or related sectors is highly advantageous.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and performance analysis.
- Exposure to financial due diligence, business case development, and strategic decision support.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex financial modelling.
- Strong financial analysis and forecasting capabilities.
- Experience with management reporting and performance dashboards.
- Solid understanding of profitability reporting and variance analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools will be advantageous.
