Chief Accountant to join a globally recognised organisation. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions, strengthen financial controls, and play a pivotal role in finance systems enhancement and business transformation initiatives.
Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing complex accounting processes, supporting compliance requirements, and contributing to technology-driven improvements within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial information across the business.
- Oversee income statement and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Review financial results and provide detailed analysis to support decision-making.
- Maintain robust financial controls and governance processes across the finance function.
Payroll & Financial Administration
- Oversee payroll-related accounting processes and reconciliations.
- Review and authorise payment batches in line with internal control procedures.
- Ensure the accurate processing and recording of payroll-related transactions.
- Support compliance with company policies and financial governance requirements.
IFRS 16 & Technical Accounting
- Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting requirements, including calculations, reconciliations, and financial disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance on complex accounting matters.
- Assist with statutory reporting and audit requirements.
Systems Implementation & Process Improvement
- Support finance-related system enhancement and implementation projects.
- Play a key role in the integration and optimisation of business systems, including CRM platforms.
- Drive automation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency within finance processes.
- Develop and enhance reporting tools, workflows, and financial controls.
Credit Risk & Commercial Support
- Monitor credit risk exposure and support effective working capital management.
- Analyse financial trends and provide recommendations to support business performance.
- Partner with operational stakeholders to improve decision-making and commercial outcomes.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial analysis and reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with finance, operational, and executive teams across the organisation.
- Resolve complex financial queries and provide practical solutions.
- Support audit processes and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to business projects and ad hoc financial initiatives as required.
Requirements
Qualifications
- BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CIMA / CGMA qualification highly advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, Financial Manager, or similar role.
- Strong corporate accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Proven exposure to IFRS 16 accounting requirements.
- Experience managing complex reconciliations and financial control processes.
- Exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation, or process improvement projects will be advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Exposure to CRM implementations or system integration projects beneficial.
- Sound understanding of credit control, risk management, and financial governance.
