The group is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join its dynamic finance team, with a dedicated focus on cross-border entities. This role is ideal for a candidate who has completed their SAICA articles and is looking to build a strong technical foundation while gaining exposure to complex, multi-entity and cross-border financial environments.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting the business with reliable financial information across multiple jurisdictions.
Duties: - Full responsibility for the Trial Balance to Financial Statements process across cross-border entities
- Preparation and processing of customer and supplier invoices
- Capturing and reconciling bank transactions and petty cash
- Preparing and processing payment batches in multiple currencies
- Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register
- Reconciling intercompany loan accounts and resolving variances
- Assisting with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS, accounting standards and internal controls
- Supporting external audits and providing information to auditors
- Working closely with senior finance team members to ensure accurate reporting and compliance across all entities
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications: - Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Accounting
Experience: - Completed SAICA articles (non-negotiable)
- Solid understanding of IFRS and accounting principles
- Proven experience in trial balance preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently and accurately
- Exposure to cross-border, multi-entity or group accounting will be highly advantageous
- Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as Sage, Pastel or similar ERP systems
