Job Summary
This role is suited to a finance professional who is confident, decisive, and comfortable being close to the numbers, the floor, and the people. You’ll work in a business where stock, production, and financial discipline are critical; and where finance plays a key role in driving control, performance, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full finance function, including month-end, reporting, and compliance.
- Prepare management accounts, variance analysis, and financial performance reports.
- Oversee stock control, stock valuations, reconciliations, and cost analysis.
- Partner closely with production and operational teams to ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
- Review and maintain accurate journals, reconciliations, and general ledger.
- Drive financial discipline, challenge inefficiencies, and support operational decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential).
- Completed SAICA articles advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a Financial Manager or Senior Accountant role.
- Background in industrial, production, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong stock management and costing experience (essential).
- Confident, resilient, and comfortable operating in a direct, results-driven environment.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to engage firmly and professionally with operational stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and solid accounting system experience.
