Our client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers excellent exposure across the full accounting function, providing the opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, audit support, creditor management, and business performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Perform the full accounting function and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Prepare financial information and supporting schedules for management reporting purposes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting requirements.

Creditors & Cash Flow Management

• Manage the full creditors function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments.
• Monitor supplier accounts and resolve queries efficiently.
• Assist with cash flow management and payment planning.

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns accurately and within required deadlines.
• Maintain compliance with relevant company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to all Gaming Board regulations and reporting obligations.

Audit & Financial Controls

• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with strengthening financial controls and identifying areas for improvement.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in line with governance requirements.

Financial Analysis & Business Support

• Analyse financial information and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Provide meaningful financial insights to support business decision-making.
• Assist management with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Requirements

Qualifications

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years' accounting experience.
• Previous creditors experience is essential.
• Exposure to internal or external audit processes.
• Sound understanding of VAT and taxation requirements.

Systems & Technical Skills

• Microsoft Excel proficiency is essential.
• Experience working on ERP or accounting systems.
• Exposure to Accpac will be advantageous.
