An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Finance Manager to join the leadership team of a growing and innovative financial services organisation. This role offers the chance to operate at both a strategic and operational level, partnering closely with executive stakeholders to enhance financial performance, improve business processes, and support key commercial initiatives.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the finance function, provide critical financial insights to EXCO and Board members, and lead initiatives that strengthen governance, reporting, automation, and business profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and oversee the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial information.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support growth, profitability, and operational performance.
- Contribute to key business decisions through financial analysis, modelling, and commercial insight.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Develop financial models to evaluate business performance, growth opportunities, and investment decisions.
- Deliver meaningful forecasts, scenario analysis, and performance metrics to support strategic initiatives.
- Monitor business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
Financial Operations & Governance
- Oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and control activities.
- Ensure robust financial governance frameworks and risk management processes are maintained.
- Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and reporting requirements.
Finance Transformation & Automation
- Lead finance automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Drive efficiencies through the optimisation of finance systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
- Support ERP enhancements and encourage the adoption of technology-driven solutions across the finance function.
- Continuously improve reporting accuracy, data integrity, and operational performance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Reporting
- Prepare and present management reports, board packs, and financial performance reviews.
- Engage regularly with EXCO and Board members, providing actionable financial insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to support commercial and operational objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor on financial performance, business risks, and growth opportunities.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Support succession planning, talent development, and team capability building.
- Ensure effective resource allocation and performance management across the finance function.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Qualified CA(SA) (essential).
Experience
- 10-15 years' post-articles experience.
- Proven experience within Financial Services, Banking, Consumer Lending, or FinTech environments.
- Strong background in:
- Financial Reporting
- Financial Operations
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Financial Modelling
- Finance Transformation and Automation
- Financial Controls and Governance
- Team Leadership and People Management
- Previous EXCO involvement is essential.
- Experience presenting financial performance, recommendations, and strategic insights to Board-level stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- ERP systems experience is required, with exposure to Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms highly advantageous.
- Strong financial modelling and data analysis capabilities.
- Advanced reporting and forecasting expertise.
- Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance requirements, and business operations.
