Job Summary
Our client, a longstanding family run engineering entity in Sidwell (Port Elizabeth), is looking to appoint a Workshop Technician.
This role is suited to a practical, multi-skilled individual who is comfortable working in a mechanical workshop environment and enjoys a variety of tasks including fabrication, welding, and finishing work.
The ideal candidate is someone with prior workshop experience who is looking to build a long-term career within a stable and growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general workshop duties including fabrication and assembly.
- Welding of components (primarily stainless steel).
- Polishing and finishing of stainless-steel products.
- Assist with mechanical work and maintenance tasks.
- Operate workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support the team with various ad hoc technical and manual tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proven welding experience
- Previous experience working in a mechanical/workshop environment
- Hands-on, practical skillset with the ability to work with tools and machinery
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
