Job Summary
Introduction:
Odin (OMANG) is a South African EdTech company. We work with corporates to direct their B-BBEE compliance funding — specifically Enterprise Development and Skills Development spend — into education programmes that produce measurable outcomes. Our commercial channel has been built by one person. This role exists to develop a second.
Position Summary:
This is not a sales role with a target and a commission structure. It is a development position. The BD Lead will teach you how this commercial channel works — the legislation, the client landscape, the sales process, and the conversations. Over one to three years, the expectation is that you will be capable of running this independently.

Basic Requirements:
- Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha-based — non-negotiable
- 1 to 3 years of work experience in any role — sector is irrelevant
- Clear and confident communicator, on a call and in writing
- Organised — you follow through without needing to be chased
Key Responsibilities:
- Sit in on and conduct discovery calls with corporate leads, with coaching and debrief after each one
- Learn how to qualify a prospect — identifying which companies have live spend intent and which do not
- Build working knowledge of the B-BBEE legislative and funding environment
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of contacts and conversations
- Support in-person client engagement in Port Elizabeth and occasionally elsewhere

- POSITIVITY: You are not easily discouraged. Rejection, slow progress, and difficult conversations are part of this work — you can absorb them without losing momentum. You bring energy to the room, not weight.
- CURIOSITY: You want to understand why businesses make the decisions they make. You find people interesting. You ask follow-up questions because you actually want the answer, not because you have been told to. This is not a trait you can learn on the job — you either have it or you do not.
- MINDSET: You are playing a long game. You are not looking for the fastest path to a commission cheque. You understand that building a real skill set takes time, and you are prepared to invest that time before expecting a return on it.
