Mechanical Design Engineer – Midrand Permanent
A leading engineering organisation in the defence and mobility sector is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work across the full product life cycle, from concept and design to prototyping, testing, and final commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Concept design, calculations, layouts, and FEA evaluation
Create solid models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
Support prototype build, testing, and design improvements
Collaborate with manufacturing, subcontractors, and test teams
Manage subsystem design, documentation, and project targets
Provide production and procurement support
Requirements
Degree/N‑Dip/B‑Tech in Mechanical or Design Engineering
5–7 years Mechanical Design Engineering experience
Military vehicle design experience advantageous
Strong knowledge of electrical design principles
Proficient in SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar
