A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee and drive quality performance across multiple sites based in Heidelberg & Wadeville. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and managing quality systems within a complex, multi-product manufacturing environment.
Duties include:
Quality Planning & Improvement
Drive continuous improvement of quality KPIs across multiple plants
Analyse quality data, trends, and customer complaints to identify improvement opportunities
Implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce defects and non-conformances
Lead training and development initiatives in quality systems and methodologies
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards
Quality Systems & Compliance
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
Lead internal and external audits, including ISO audits
Ensure document control systems are accurate and up to date
Monitor risk management activities and implement mitigation strategies
Evaluate audit findings and drive corrective actions
Product & Process Quality
Oversee inspection, testing, and validation of materials and finished products
Investigate customer complaints and NCRs, ensuring effective resolution
Support Kaizen and continuous improvement projects
Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Sales
Drive quality improvements across product lines and manufacturing processes
Technical & Operational Oversight
Analyse technical reports using statistical tools and methodologies
Ensure adherence to product specifications and engineering standards
Support prototype, sample, and pilot batch evaluations
Ensure proper inspection processes and decision-making on product acceptance/rejection
Oversee quality performance across multiple sites, including travel between plants
Metrology & Systems
Ensure calibration and maintenance of all measuring and testing equipment
Support development of new inspection techniques and quality systems
Minimum Requirements:
Matric
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality Leadership role within manufacturing
Proven experience managing multi-product / multi-line environments
Strong knowledge of quality systems, auditing, and compliance
Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g. PDCA, DMAIC, FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, SIPOC)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong computer literacy (MS Office & quality systems)
