A leading engineering organisation is seeking a technically strong Project & Proposals Engineer to support their MV Drives and Soft Starters division. This role combines project management, technical tendering, and customer engagement, with future growth into a leadership position.

Duties include:

Project Management

• Manage projects from quotation through to delivery and invoicing

• Ensure all contractual, commercial, and delivery requirements are met

• Maintain project schedules and track progress against timelines

• Manage purchase orders, sales orders, invoicing, and delivery documentation

• Monitor project cashflow and margin performance

• Liaise with factories and suppliers to ensure timely delivery

Proposals & Tendering

• Compile detailed technical proposals and tenders aligned to customer specifications

• Interpret client requirements and provide technically sound solutions

• Cost equipment based on supplier and factory pricing

• Ensure compliance with commercial terms and conditions

• Offer alternative solutions where applicable

Technical & Engineering Support

• Assist with basic engineering design work (GAs, SLDs, layout drawings)

• Support internal and external stakeholders with technical queries

• Work closely with engineering, sales, and supply chain teams

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with customers to clarify specifications and technical requirements

• Attend client meetings and provide technical input

• Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers

Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate contract documentation and records

• Prepare monthly reports and updates

• Ensure customer credit approvals and assist with payment queries

Minimum Requirements:

• Electrical National Diploma or higher

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in:

  • MV Drives / Electrical Engineering projects

  • Technical tendering / proposals

• Experience with switchgear solutions (MV & LV)

• Strong understanding of project lifecycle and execution

• Computer literacy (MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Valid driver’s license

• Willingness to attend site and client meetings
