Job Summary
A leading engineering and infrastructure firm is currently seeking a highly skilled Master Installation Electrician to join their specialized project team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical expert to oversee complex electrical installations and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance within demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and certify complex electrical installations, ensuring all work adheres to SANS 10142-1 and relevant regulatory standards.
Manage large-scale projects within specialized industrial sectors, focusing on hazardous area compliance.
Conduct thorough inspections and issue Certificates of Compliance (CoC) for industrial and specialized electrical systems.
Lead on-site teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
Troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical faults in high-pressure environments.
Requirements
Professional Status: Must be a Department of Employment and Labour registered Master Installation Electrician (MIE).
Experience: Proven track record in the petrochemical, oil and gas, or a related heavy industrial sector is essential.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of hazardous area classifications and specialized electrical infrastructure.
Logistics: Must possess a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
Attributes: Strong leadership capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to rigorous safety standards.
Important Information (NB)
This role requires extensive knowledge of specialized electrical installations beyond standard commercial or residential work.
Experience with explosive atmospheres and intrinsic safety protocols is highly advantageous.
