Job Summary
Company and Job Description:You will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and models for gears, shafts, and related mechanical components. Working closely with engineers and production teams, you will ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of gears and mechanical components
- Interpret engineering specifications and convert them into accurate technical drawings
- Prepare assembly drawings, component drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and manufacturing requirements
- Revise drawings based on design changes and production feedback
- Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, and quality teams
- Support production by resolving drawing-related queries and technical issues
- Maintain drawing records and ensure proper document control
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
- Diploma or certification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in mechanical draughting, preferably within gear manufacturing or precision engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, tolerances, and fits
- Knowledge of gear design principles (advantageous)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
