As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, masking, priming, and spray-painting refurbished and repaired machinery components associated components according to customer specifications.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of workmanship, ensuring that all finished products meet our quality requirements and reflect the company’s commitment to professional, high-quality service.

PREPARATION OF COMPONENTS

· Inspect components before painting.

· Clean and degrease motors using approved cleaning methods.

· Remove rust, corrosion, old paint and surface contamination.

· Sand, repair and prepare surfaces to achieve a smooth finish.

· Mask shafts, bearings, cooling fans, terminal boxes, nameplates, mounting faces and machined surfaces to prevent paint contamination.

· Ensure all motors are correctly identified before painting.

SPRAY PAINTING

· Mix primers, topcoats and hardeners according to manufacturer specifications.

· Apply industrial coatings using conventional and airless spray equipment.

· Paint refurbished electric motors in accordance with client standards, including COMPANY colour specifications where required.

· Ensure correct film thickness, even coverage and professional finish.

· Carry out touch-ups where necessary.

· Monitor drying and curing times before motors are released for assembly or dispatch.

QUALITY CONTROL

· Inspect painted motors for defects including runs, sags, dry spray, overspray and colour inconsistencies.

· Ensure the finished product meets company quality standards and customer expectations.

· Protect completed motors from damage during handling and storage.

· Report any defects requiring rework.

EQUIPMENT & WORKSHOP MAINTENANCE

· Clean and maintain spray guns, pressure pots and painting equipment.

· Maintain spray booth cleanliness and ensure filters are replaced when required.

· Monitor paint, primer, thinners and consumable stock levels.

· Report equipment faults to the Workshop Supervisor.

Experience

· Grade 12 (Matric) is preferred.

· At least 2–3 years' experience as an industrial spray painter.

· Experience painting refurbished electric motors or similar industrial equipment will be an advantage.

· Valid forklift licence.(Optional will be trained)

· Experience operating an overhead crane. (Optional will be trained)

· Good understanding of industrial paints and spray-painting techniques.

· Good attention to detail.

· Reliable and punctual.

· Able to work independently and as part of a team.

· Good housekeeping and organisational skills.

· Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Safety conscious at all times.

Salary Package

R15000.00 pe month with benefits medical aid 50% and Pension Fund contribution 10.8%
