Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical engineering designs and technical specifications.
- Prepare and review single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.
- Perform electrical calculations, load studies, and equipment sizing.
- Support projects through concept design, feasibility studies, detailed engineering, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Provide technical support during procurement, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Support operational teams with troubleshooting, fault finding, and system optimisation.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5-8 years' experience within mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, energy, or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience in electrical design, project execution, and engineering support.
- Strong knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems.
- Experience with power distribution systems, substations, motor control centres, transformers, and protection systems.
- Familiarity with relevant South African and international electrical standards.
- Experience with engineering software and design tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety principles and risk management.
- Professional registration with ECSA, or progress towards registration, will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required.
