Minimum Requirements: National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) BSc Honors Civil/ Water Engineering Registered with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Professional Registered with SACPCMP PrCPM Minimum 3 Projects involving Bulk Steel Pipe Projects of Diameter 450mm or more as contracts manager Minimum 3 Projects involving Concrete Reservoirs of 10ml or more as a contracts manager Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction Projects working in mechanical/Civil projects Minimum 2 years' experience in a management role Ability to analyze drawings and designs Ability to work as an individual and in a team. Proper time management and ability to work under pressure and preparedness to work overtime, when required. Able to work and thrive in a high-stress and fast paced environment. Core Responsibilities: Contract Preparation and Administration Draft, review, negotiate, and manage construction contracts. Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies. Interpret contract terms and advise project teams on contractual obligations. Tender and Procurement Management Prepare tender documentation and contract specifications. Evaluate contractor and supplier bids. Assist in selecting subcontractors and suppliers based on commercial and technical criteria. Risk Management Identify contractual and commercial risks. Develop strategies to mitigate project risks. Monitor compliance with contractual requirements. Cost and Financial Management Monitor contract budgets and expenditure. Review payment applications, invoices, and valuations. Assess and negotiate variations, claims, and compensation events. Support cost control and forecasting throughout the project. Claims and Dispute Resolution Manage contractual claims from contractors or clients. Prepare supporting documentation for claims. Negotiate settlements and assist in dispute resolution through mediation, adjudication, arbitration, or litigation when necessary. Contract Compliance Ensure all parties meet contractual obligations. Monitor project performance against contract requirements. Maintain accurate contract records and documentation. Stakeholder Communication Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, legal advisors, and project managers. Provide contractual advice during project meetings. Communicate contractual changes and their commercial impacts. Change Management Evaluate and process contract variations. Assess cost and schedule implications of changes. Ensure all changes are properly documented and approved. Project Close-Out Administer final accounts. Ensure completion certificates and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
