Key responsibilities Assess municipal water-distribution systems and NRW performance. Prepare and review water balances. Analyse bulk-meter, consumer-meter, billing and consumption data. Identify physical water losses, including leaks, bursts and overflows. Investigate apparent losses, including inaccurate meters, illegal connections and billing problems. Support the design and management of district-metered areas. Analyse minimum night flows and other water-loss indicators. Coordinate or support active leak-detection surveys. Review pressure-management opportunities. Assess bulk, zonal and customer-metering arrangements. Identify data-quality, telemetry and monitoring gaps. Develop practical NRW-reduction strategies and interventions. Prioritise network rehabilitation, meter replacement and maintenance activities. Prepare technical reports, dashboards, presentations and action plans. Support cost estimates and implementation-roadmap development. Work with engineering, operations, maintenance, finance, customer-services and data teams. Present findings to municipal and technical stakeholders. Water-loss programmes commonly include water balances, physical and commercial-loss analysis, district-metered areas and performance indicators. Minimum requirements Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology or a related field.Error!
