The GIS Specialist will support the integration of spatial information with engineering, SCADA, asset-management, maintenance, billing and operational systems. Water-sector GIS work commonly includes maintaining GIS databases, mapping water and sanitation infrastructure, validating data, producing maps and supporting water-loss analysis. Key responsibilities Develop, update and maintain GIS databases for water and wastewater assets. Capture and verify pipelines, valves, meters, reservoirs, pump stations, boreholes and treatment infrastructure. Digitise existing drawings, survey information, GPS data and as-built records. Standardise spatial data, coordinate systems, asset identifiers and attribute information. Conduct GIS data-quality checks and resolve missing or inconsistent information. Produce maps, network plans, dashboards and spatial reports. Support water-balance and non-revenue-water analysis using spatial information. Map district-metered areas, pressure zones, service areas and water-loss hotspots. Link GIS assets with SCADA, telemetry, CMMS/EAM, billing and customer-information systems. Support spatial analysis for infrastructure condition, risk, service coverage and investment planning. Assist engineers and technical specialists with site planning and asset verification. Review field data, contractor submissions and infrastructure handover information. Maintain metadata, data dictionaries, asset registers and document-control procedures.Error!
