Yard Supervisor
Location: Cleveland, Johannesburg
We are seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee and manage yard operations. The role requires strong leadership, discipline, and forward planning to ensure safe, efficient, and productive workflow.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and direct daily activities of yard staff (5–10 employees).

Enforce discipline, punctuality, and performance standards.

Conduct daily toolbox talks and allocate tasks clearly.

Monitor staff output and intervene where performance drops.
-
Plan upcoming tasks in advance (loading, offloading, cutting, sorting, movements).
-
Anticipate bottlenecks, material access issues, and equipment requirements.
-
Enforce all safety rules, PPE requirements, and yard protocols.

Maintain yard organisation and housekeeping standards.
Minimum Requirements:
-
3+ years’ supervisory experience (yard/industrial/operations environment preferred).

Strong leadership and people management ability.
-
Confident in handling difficult staff without intimidation.
-
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
-
Basic computer/administration ability (job cards, reporting, checklists).
-
Clear communication in English (additional languages beneficial).
