Position Overview
The Junior Sales Engineer will expand our reach, cultivate strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth in the construction, consulting, and IPP fields in the South African, Zambian and Tanzanian market. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of the industry, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of sales growth success.
The area of focus will be on selling technical products and services, translating, and explaining highly complex technical information to customers and clients, and focusing on revealing how a product or piece of equipment can solve specific problems. Provide technical insight about deployment and implementation, putting the value proposition into practice.
Work Activities and Responsibilities
Identify and qualify potential leads through a combination of research, networking, and outreach.
Develop targeted sales pitches and presentations to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition.
Promote and sell equipment, products, and solutions to prospective and current clients, using technical knowledge, and commercial training and experience.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and anticipating future requirements.
Identify new business, negotiate contracts, and review sales performance.
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, assign and monitor allocated enquiries, quotations, orders, projects, and deliveries.
Stay abreast of the latest developments and breakthroughs and pass this vital knowledge on.
Not only will the focus be on the sale of our products and services, but the technical aspects of the products and solutions will be represented, proposing how these aspects can benefit the customer.
A strong technical understanding of the complexities of our products and solutions is needed, together with excellent sales skills. There will be regular dealings and contact with maintenance and production engineers, as well as plant managers.
Collaborate with the design, production, engineering, or research and development departments of the product partners to determine how products and services could be made or modified to suit the needs of the customer.
Expand sales territories.
Conceptualise strategies to market products, generate sales conversions and deliver a superior customer experience.
Keep track of targeted as well as actual sales to determine the extent of marketing support required.
Sourcing and storing information about competition products for market research.
Identifying new sales and marketing channels and technologies as well as finding the best solutions to promote the business.

Entry Requirements:
Open to graduates of technical disciplines – mechanical, electrical, instrumentation
2+ years of sales-related experience within a technical or engineering environment
Experience selling electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment to mines, municipalities and construction companies
Fluent spoken and written English ~ French an advantage
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, work independently and well in a team, and perform under pressure
Excellent computer skills
