Role Overview:
As a Mid-Level Estimator, you’ll support the preparation of accurate, competitive, and well-structured cost estimates across a range of construction projects. This role suits someone who is detail-driven, analytical, and confident working with project data, drawings, and supplier inputs. You’ll contribute to tender submissions, assess project risks, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimates are aligned with commercial and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for tenders and proposals
Analyse drawings, specifications, and project information to determine material, labour, and time requirements
Source, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations
Assist with developing cost plans, rate build-ups, and bill of quantities
Identify cost risks, value-engineering opportunities, and pricing variables
Maintain and update costing databases, supplier lists, and benchmarking information
Support the handover process from estimating to project teams
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement to ensure alignment on project scope and pricing
Contribute to tender documentation and ensure deadlines are met
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
3+ years’ experience in estimating within the construction industry
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and measurement principles
Proficiency in cost estimating software and Excel
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills
