ABOUT THE ROLE
As Site Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our on-site operations — owning safety, production, people, and client satisfaction. You will lead from the front, ensuring every shift runs safely, efficiently, and profitably. This is a high-impact leadership role for a proven mining professional who thrives under pressure and delivers results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)
- Own all 2.6.1 responsibilities and ensure full site-wide SHEQ compliance
- Lead morning line-ups, safety interactions, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns
- Enforce compliance with Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Permit to Operate (PTOs)
- Report, investigate and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on all incidents
- Conduct weekly site inspections and maintain audit-ready 2.9.2 documentation
Operations & Fleet Management
- Drive weekly and monthly operational reviews, identifying deviations and corrective actions
- Manage the M-Project fleet and compile detailed fleet performance reports
- Oversee mine machinery maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and productivity
- Generate and submit accurate client reports on time, every time
People & HR Administration
- Authorise overtime, manage personnel records and conduct site-specific inductions
- Record RTW interviews, exit interviews and disciplinary proceedings
- Conduct KPI reviews and performance appraisals for all surface personnel
- Execute recruitment, coaching, succession planning and reward strategies
Financial & Cost Control
- Manage monthly budgets and weekly cost targets with a continuous improvement mindset
- Identify and implement procedural changes to drive cost efficiencies
- Liaise with the client on budget, cost control and production planning
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular interaction and feedback
- Address complaints, queries, invoices and back-order issues promptly
- Attend monthly Contractor Management SHEQ meetings and scheduled client meetings
- Compile and present integrated reports from supervisor data to clients
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- N3 Trade Theory certificate
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the mining industry
- Minimum 10 years' hands-on experience with mobile mining equipment
Advantageous
- National Diploma in a related field
