E&CI Field Technician – Electrical, Control & Instrumentation

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced E&CI Field Technician to support the installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical, control and instrumentation systems across mineral processing equipment and plants. The successful candidate will be a practical, hands-on technician with experience working on industrial/mining/mineral processing equipment, with strong exposure to PLCs, electrical control systems, instrumentation and commissioning. This is a field-based technical role requiring regular travel to customer sites and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control-system issues independently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
Perform fault-finding on PLCs, control panels, MCCs, instrumentation and electrical systems.
Assist with PLC and HMI testing and troubleshooting.
Test and commission field instruments and devices.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and I/O lists.
Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Conduct equipment start-up and commissioning at customer sites.
Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, PLC and communication faults.
Assist with calibration and testing of instrumentation.
Support engineers during commissioning and project execution.
Liaise with clients, engineers, project managers, electricians and workshop personnel.
Provide technical feedback and commissioning reports.
Travel locally and internationally as required.
Provide technical support during equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Minimum Requirements
BTech / National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or similar.
3–7 years' experience in industrial automation, mining, mineral processing or industrial equipment.
Practical experience with PLC systems.
Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC exposure preferred.
Experience with electrical control panels and MCCs.
Understanding of industrial instrumentation and field devices.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Experience with fault-finding and commissioning.
Understanding of industrial communication networks.
Valid driver's licence.
Own reliable vehicle.
Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
