Job Summary
A highly skilled and experienced Petrol/Diesel Mechanic responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light‑duty vehicles (LDV), heavy‑duty vehicles (HDV), and trailers. The role requires advanced technical ability, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Perform full mechanical repairs on petrol and diesel engines
Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and technical expertise
Service and repair LDVs, trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles
Conduct engine overhauls, gearbox repairs, clutch replacements, brake systems, suspension, and driveline repairs
Perform trailer maintenance including axles, brakes, wiring, couplers, and structural checks
Complete job cards accurately and report findings to management
Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and manufacturer standards
Maintain workshop tools, cleanliness, and safe working practices
Assist with breakdowns and field repairs when required
Work efficiently to meet deadlines and workshop schedules
Minimum Requirements
Qualified Petrol/Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal or equivalent)
10+ years’ experience in a professional workshop environment
Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding ability
Experience working on both LDV and HDV vehicles
Proven experience with trailers (mechanical & electrical)
Valid driver’s license (Code 14 advantageous)
Ability to work under pressure and independently.
