Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimise SQL-based databases and data platforms.
- Build and support data pipelines, ETL solutions and data-integration processes.
- Develop and maintain Power BI datasets, dashboards and reports.
- Support Azure-based data services and Microsoft Fabric environments.
- Automate operational and management reporting.
- Monitor data quality and perform validation, reconciliation and root-cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot data-processing and reporting issues.
- Collaborate with business units to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification.
- 2–5 years’ experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Reporting, SQL Development, Data Analytics, Application Support or a related technical role.
- Intermediate SQL skills, including the ability to work with complex queries, joins, subqueries, views and basic stored procedures.
- Experience with Power BI reporting environments, including Power Query and DAX fundamentals.
- Sound understanding of relational databases, data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification.
- At least one of the following certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals; or
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
Advantageous Experience
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure-based data services, ETL processes, API integrations, Python scripting and data warehousing concepts will be beneficial.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must have their own reliable transport and be willing to travel occasionally between group operations. Some support outside normal working hours may be required for critical incidents, deployments, month-end processes or major implementations.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 15:00
