Job Summary
ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position requires the services of an individual to effectively develop, implement and maintain quality systems to ensure that all subordinates are working and performing according to the requirements as set out in their job descriptions and quality operating system procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5-year experience as a Quality Department Manager in a similar complex automotive manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5-year experience on press tools or assembly process.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry of similar complexity (preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience in car-building especially German-based factories).
- B-Tech degree in Quality Management/ or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of the core quality aspects that we control (geometry, surface quality, structural integrity).
- Total Quality Management.
- ISO Standards (Standard Internal Auditor).
- Customer Standards and IATF.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Principles (preferably in automotive sector).
- Six Sigma Tools.
- Root Cause analysis & Problem Solving / Core Tools understanding, implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage performance of subordinates.
- Maintain quality systems according to ISO & OEM system requirements.
- Ensure that all customer requirements are met.
- Continuous improvement of product quality and systems by analysing performance and implement corrective action when required.
- Establish and maintain Quality Department budget.
- Manage customer requests/ complaints.
- Manage quality performance indicators.
- Train and mentor subordinates.
- Continuously improve QMS in-line with customer expectations.

- Corrective actions- support process department in the closing of 8D's and the evaluation of effectiveness.
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office, Power BI, end-user knowledge of SAPR3.
