Our client is a leading specialist service provider to the automotive industry, partnering with vehicle manufacturers, dealer networks, and industry stakeholders across Africa. They deliver strategic operational solutions that enhance performance, strengthen dealer relationships, and drive continuous business improvement within the automotive sector. They are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Key Account Manager who has built a successful career within the automotive industry. This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands OEM and dealer environments, has established industry relationships, and enjoys managing strategic client partnerships while driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will serve as the primary relationship manager between the business and key automotive clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery, identifying new business opportunities, and leading high-performing operational teams. Key Responsibilities Manage strategic OEM and dealership accounts as the primary point of contact. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders across OEMs, dealer groups, and industry partners. Lead and manage a team of 50+ employees, ensuring operational excellence and achievement of business KPIs. Take commercial and operational ownership of assigned accounts, ensuring contractual obligations and service levels are consistently achieved. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce new service offerings. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational processes and business performance. Present business reviews, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders. Monitor financial performance of key accounts and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies. Work closely with internal operational teams to ensure seamless delivery of services. Travel nationally and internationally when required. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Financial Management, or a related field. Minimum 8–10 years' experience within the South African automotive industry. Strong understanding of OEM and dealership operations. Proven experience in Key Account Management, General Management, Business Development, or Dealer Network Management. Demonstrated ability to manage large operational teams and multiple stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and service delivery. Established network and relationships within the automotive industry would be highly advantageous. Advanced reporting and analytical skills, including MS Excel and Power BI. Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel regularly. Ideal Candidate Profile We're looking for someone who combines the commercial mindset of a Business Development professional with the leadership capability of a General Manager. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing strategic automotive accounts, understands the dynamics between OEMs and dealer networks, and is confident engaging with executive-level stakeholders while leading large operational teams. Experience within automotive training environments will be advantageous but is not essential.
