Job Summary
REQUIREMENTS:- Minimum 3–5 years' maintenance experience, preferably within a safari lodge or remote hospitality environment
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong technical knowledge across general building maintenance
- Hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding and general repairs
- Knowledge of generators, solar systems and water systems
- Knowledge of boreholes, pumps, filtration and sewage systems advantageous
- Experience maintaining firefighting equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Good leadership, organisational and planning skills
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies
- Valid driver's licence
- Trade qualification such as electrician, plumber, carpenter or similar advantageous
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage preventative and corrective maintenance across the property
- Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance issues promptly
- Carry out hands-on maintenance and general repairs
- Maintain guest rooms, public areas, staff accommodation and back-of-house facilities
- Maintain generators, solar systems, water systems, sewage systems and firefighting equipment
- Supervise, train and motivate the maintenance team
- Allocate daily and weekly maintenance tasks
- Monitor work progress and ensure tasks are completed to required standards
- Enforce safe working practices and correct use of tools and equipment
- Ensure guest-facing areas are maintained to luxury standards
- Respond promptly and discreetly to guest-related maintenance issues
- Work closely with Housekeeping and Front-of-House teams regarding maintenance requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and report hazards
- Ensure tools, chemicals and hazardous materials are stored safely
- Support water, power and waste-management initiatives
- Ensure maintenance practices support environmental and conservation standards
PACKAGE:
- Salary: R13,000 per month CTC
- Live-in position
- Three weeks on, 7 days off
- Uniform and food provided
- Compulsory 5% Provident Fund contribution
