Requirements
- qualified Fitter, N3/Matric
- experience on Uniloy and Urola machines
- strong mechanical aptitude
- ability to problem solve
Responsibilities
- reviewing of previous shifts production run by clarifying causes of problems where relevant and ensuring a smooth hand over to next shift
- communicating problems and plans to relevant parties
- planning of daily actions and organising resources by correctly selecting equipment and tools, updating activity sheets and updating mould cards relevant to the technicians work
- fault identification and fixing of root cause and completion of production logs and job cards
- maintaining and servicing machinery and moulds by making full utilisation of planned maintenance allowance
- mould changes done in specified time, with 100% accuracy and adherence to mould care procedures
- ensuring a smooth start up with minimum scrap
- ensuring no defective products or non-conforming products
- continuous monitoring of machines to ensure smooth production to achieve 85% efficiency rate
- ensure that preventative maintenance is carried out and documented
- attending to breakdowns
- achieving quality manufacturing requirements by ensuring zero unwarranted concessions
- rapid quality problem solving ensuring that all defective stock is immediately isolated
- continuous monitoring of machine settings and performance to proactively prevent out of spec products
- ensuring that work in the section is performed in terms of agreed expectations and by the company’s standards
- coaching of fellow employees and giving feedback to Team Leader on employee’s progress and perceived level of competence
- ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures
- reporting all unsafe conditions to Safety Rep / Team Leader immediately
- 100% adherence to manufacturers’ safety specifications
- maintaining toolkit and ensuring that tools are stored away when not in use
