Purpose of the Role
Our reputable QSR / Fast Food client is seeking an experienced and driven Training Manager to lead and manage the regional training function across KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing structured training programs, leading a team of approximately 20 trainers, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently maintained across all stores, and supporting new store openings through effective coaching and operational training. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong fast-food operational knowledge, excellent people management skills, and the ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12).
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years' Fast Food / QSR Operations Management and Training experience.
- Proven experience managing and leading a training team.
- Experience facilitating operational and classroom-based training.
- Experience with staff rostering and workforce planning.
- Experience supporting new store openings and operational rollouts.
- Strong administration and reporting experience.
- Experience within a high-volume restaurant or takeaway environment.
- MICROS experience will be advantageous.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Fast Food / QSR operations.
- Solid understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- COS, GP and GRV knowledge is essential.
- MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to prepare professional reports and presentations.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Good balance of technical operational knowledge and people development skills.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout KZN.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including extended periods away from home when supporting new store openings or operational training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Training Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing structured training programs.
- Delivering operational training in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Managing, coaching, and developing a team of approximately 20 trainers.
- Planning staff rosters and coordinating trainer schedules.
- Monitoring employee performance and identifying training needs.
- Maintaining accurate training records, attendance registers, and performance documentation.
- Conducting performance evaluations and providing coaching where required.
- Delivering daily operational training updates.
- Facilitating presentations and training workshops.
- Supporting new store openings through hands-on training and mentoring.
- Signing off management trainees across the region.
- Monitoring training reports and addressing operational concerns.
- Providing GP and GRV training and troubleshooting support.
- Ensuring training rosters and weekly updates are submitted within deadlines.
- Coordinating staffing requirements and training plans for new store openings.
- Working closely with Operations to improve operational performance and employee capability.

Working Hours
- Monday to Saturday.
- Standard hours: 08:00 – 17:00.
- Peak trading periods: 12:00 – 20:00.
- Must be willing to stay at outlying locations for up to 10 days or more when supporting new store openings or urgent operational training requirements.
