Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions to support key business decisions.
- Work across the full data science lifecycle: data preparation, feature engineering, modelling, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define analytical requirements, provide insights, and develop data‑driven strategies.
- Research, test, and implement innovative ML/statistical techniques to improve analytics capabilities.
- Build production‑ready ML models and monitor model performance to ensure they remain accurate and fit for purpose.
- Present insights, trends, and analytical findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education (Minimum Requirement)
- Honours / Master’s / PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative fields.
- Certifications in Python, cloud platforms, big data, machine learning, or related technologies beneficial.
Experience
- 5–6 years’ experience in data science or advanced analytics.
- Strong experience with Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib) and Jupyter notebooks.
- SQL proficiency and experience managing large structured and unstructured datasets.
- Hands‑on experience in applying machine learning techniques to solve business problems.
- Experience working in agile development teams.
- Experience deploying or operationalising data science solutions in a production environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of the Data Science Development Cycle.
- Ability to clean, transform, and unify complex datasets for modelling.
- Strong visualisation experience (Power BI, Tableau, Kibana or similar).
- Experience with big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) advantageous.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to translate ML outputs into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and production pipelines.
