Job Title: Scullery StaffPosition Summary
We are seeking hardworking and reliable Scullery Staff to support kitchen operations in a busy hospitality or industrial kitchen environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen and scullery areas, washing dishes and cooking equipment, handling heavy kitchen items, and assisting with general kitchen cleaning duties.
This role requires physically fit individuals who are able to work in fast-paced environments, lift and move heavy equipment safely, and maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times
Key ResponsibilitiesCleaning & Dishwashing
Wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
Operate industrial dishwashing machines where applicable.
Ensure all kitchen items are cleaned, sanitized, and stored correctly.
Maintain cleanliness of the scullery area throughout shifts.
Dispose of kitchen waste and rubbish according to hygiene procedures
Heavy Lifting & Equipment Handling
Carry and move heavy pots, containers, kitchen equipment, and stock items safely.
Assist with moving tables, food trolleys, industrial kitchen equipment, and deliveries when required.
Load and unload kitchen supplies and equipment.
Support kitchen staff during large functions, events, or busy service periods.
General Kitchen Support
Assist cooks and chefs with basic cleaning and kitchen preparation tasks.
Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly.
Clean refrigerators, storage rooms, shelves, walls, and kitchen surfaces.
Ensure cleaning chemicals and materials are used safely and correctly.
Help maintain overall kitchen organization and cleanliness.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
Follow strict hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times.
Wear appropriate protective clothing and PPE when required.
Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations.
Report broken equipment, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Ensure safe handling of heavy items to prevent workplace injuries.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in a scullery, kitchen cleaning, hospitality, catering, or industrial cleaning environment is advantageous.
Physically fit and able to:
Ability to work in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
Good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
