Job Summary
ITC Hospitality Group is a fast-growing CBD-based and privately owned property letting and management company that has been in the industry for 20 years. We are currently recruiting for an energetic, well-organised Front Desk Ambassador for our 260-room hotel One Thibault located on the Foreshore/Financial District of Cape Town.
PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates with hotel experience in a similar role will be considered. If you do not meet these qualifications, please do not apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work shifts (early morning through early afternoon, or early afternoon through 10:00pm) on a rotation basis
- Check-in and check-out of guests
- Make travel arrangements for sightseeing and tours (concierge services)
- Receive, store and deliver luggage
- Perform office duties as required
- Ability to follow all Company SOP's
- Liaise with Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments and communicate guest requests in a timely and expeditious manner
- Receive reservations for accommodation from clients/agents, either in person, online or by telephone, fax and/or email
- Inform guests of the hotels services and facilities, policies and procedures
- Deal with enquiries and requests from in-house guests
- Take messages for guests
- Finalise guests' bills and issue receipts upon payment on extras account.
- Place guests' possessions in a safe if requested
- Follow in-house procedures to help ensure the security of guests and employees
- Perform general secretarial duties, such as preparing correspondence and attending to incoming calls
- Participate with in-house guest satisfaction calls via telephone
- Perform other Front Desk Ambassador duties as required/instructed
Requirements:

- Willingness to lead, take charge and offer direction
- Ability to multitask
- Show initiative by taking control of task
- Be available shift work (mornings, afternoon or nights) on weekdays, weekends and holidays
- MUST live within the immediate Cape Town area
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Accommodation Certificate/ Hotel School diploma is advantageous
- At least 2 years’ previous experience in the same or similar position in a 4/5-star hotel
- Familiar with all duties and procedures in Front Office Department
- MS Office (Word, Excel and Email) is essential
- 1 years’ Channel manager experience essential
- Valid Driver's licence
- Third language is advantageous
