Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and organized Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations at their Bloemfontein location. This role focuses on managing kitchen workflows, supervising staff, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, and ensuring smooth operational efficiency.

Minimum requirements
- Matric
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle advantageous OR reliable transport
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in hospitality
- Minimum of 2 + years' management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and POS system
Skill required
- Strong leadership and team management skills to supervise kitchen staff effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, ISO, or local regulations)
- Ability to plan and manage inventory and monitor stock levels
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle operational challenges
- Good communication skills for coordinating with staff, suppliers, and management
- Ability to implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality in service
- Basic budgeting and cost-control knowledge to manage expenses efficiently
- Ability to train, mentor, and motivate staff
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment
Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality in service
- Plan and coordinate staff schedules and shifts to ensure adequate coverage and smooth workflow
- Manage relationships with suppliers, including placing orders, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring timely stock availability
- Plan menus and special events, coordinating with management to meet client expectations and seasonal requirements
- Monitor inventory levels, control waste, and maintain cost-effective stock management
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional development
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent operations
- Handle customer or event-specific requirements, resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Collaborate with management to budget, forecast, and optimize kitchen operations
- Track performance metrics and provide reports on kitchen efficiency, staff performance, and event execution
Remuneration
R 10 000 - R 12 000 (nett) + Company car

Monday - Friday: 06h00 - 16h00
