Summary
The General Worker is responsible for performing a wide variety of manual tasks to ensure the cleanliness, upkeep, and operational functionality of the lodge units, communal areas, and surrounding grounds within the assigned camp at Bushtime. This role requires diligence, physical fitness, and a positive, helpful attitude when interacting with staff and guests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grounds and Exterior Maintenance
Maintain and clean all communal outdoor areas, including roads, pathways, parking areas, and designated guest spaces.
Assist with gardening and groundskeeping tasks, such as weeding, raking, sweeping, trimming hedges, and maintaining flowerbeds.
Ensure the swimming pool areas (including decks, furniture, and surrounds) are clean, tidy, and free of debris daily.
Collect and dispose of refuse and litter safely and efficiently, ensuring proper waste separation.
Ensure all perimeter and access gates are functional and clean.
2. General Maintenance and Repairs
Perform basic non-technical maintenance tasks, such as painting walls, repairing minor wear and tear, and replacing light bulbs/fittings.
Assist skilled artisans (e.g., plumbers, electricians) with carrying materials, preparing work sites, and cleaning up after repairs.
Maintain and clean all tools and equipment, ensuring they are stored safely and correctly.
Monitor communal facilities (e.g., tennis court, safari pick-up points) for cleanliness and reporting any damages.
