Job Summary
Duties:
Oversee all maintenance across two game lodges, the central staff village, and the game-vehicle workshop
Manage and mentor a team of maintenance staff, artisans, and general workers
Plan, budget for, and execute preventative and reactive maintenance programmes
Ensure lodges, guest facilities, and staff accommodation are maintained to a high standard
Oversee servicing, repair, and roadworthiness of game-viewing and utility vehicles
Manage borehole systems, pumps, reticulation, and water supply infrastructure across the reserve
Coordinate with lodge management on maintenance scheduling to minimise guest disruption
Manage stock, spares, tools, and supplier relationships for the workshop and stores
Assist with general farm and reserve infrastructure management (fencing, roads, buildings)
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a lodge, hospitality, or game reserve environment
Solid working knowledge of vehicle mechanics and fleet maintenance
Practical experience with boreholes, pumps, and water supply systems
General building, electrical, and plumbing maintenance knowledge; farm management a plus
Strong leadership, budgeting, and planning ability
Own reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence essential
Willing to live on-site in the Port Elizabeth / Eastern Cape game reserve area
Able to work independently and respond to after-hours emergencies
