Job Summary
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the manufacturing industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Millwright to join their Engineering Department based in Heidelberg, Gauteng.
Requirements
- Trade tested Millwright
- 3-5 years proven experience as a Millwright
- General milling and turning experience
- Knowledge of boilers and air compressors
- Basic welding pneumatics and hydraulics
- Experience in food processing equipment will be an advantage
- Ability to read machine blueprint
- Ability to work unsupervised
- In-depth mechanical skills
- Trouble shooting and problem- solving skills
- Analytical skills
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Ensure the leanest operation
- Installing and disassembling machinery
- Repairing and replacing defective machine parts
- Reading and implementing instructions on assembling machinery
- Using heavy machinery to move other machinery or parts
- Communicating with other employees regarding the status of different machinery
- Ensuring machines work properly
- Must be willing and be able to work overtime as and when required.
- Must have experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CNMMs)
- Supervising mechanical workshop staff
- Providing basic training for employees as needed.
- Evaluating employee performance and providing direction, correction, or additional training to ensure proper maintenance of the machinery.
- Inspecting the assets frequently for signs of damage or wear
- Effective control of all resources at your disposal
- Assisting with emergency response and evacuations
- Overseeing contractors and inspecting completed jobs
