A new high-end steakhouse is currently under development in Lusaka, Zambia, with doors set to open in August/September 2025. The restaurant will focus on premium steaks, complemented by a carefully curated lunch and dinner menu, sushi offerings, and seasonal blackboard specials. A skilled and driven Head Chef is needed to take full leadership of the kitchen, from initial setup through to post-launch operations. This hands-on role includes full kitchen establishment, menu creation, team recruitment, supplier management, and day-to-day oversight. Reporting directly to the ownership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the restaurant’s culinary direction, operational structure, and guest experience
Minimum Requirements:
3–5+ years’ experience as Head Chef in a steakhouse, grill room, or upmarket restaurant
Recognised culinary diploma or professional certification
Advanced skills in butchery, grilling, and sauce work
Proven track record in setting up new kitchens or launching restaurant operations
Experience in managing kitchen teams, training staff, and implementing SOPs
Strong background in stock control, menu costing, supplier management, and budgeting
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Valid passport and willingness to relocate.
