Job Summary
JOB PURPOSE:
To achieve sustainable revenue and profit growth through effective key account management, customer retention, and
new business development, while ensuring consistent service delivery, and alignment with business objectives.
Required qualifications and experience:
Matric required; a Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business preferred
Minimum 5-10 years in a sales environment with proven experience in managing a large territory of
independent customers.
Proven experience in account management and B2C sales.
Strong negotiation and value-based selling capability.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage pipelines and deliver against targets.
Basic to advanced proficiency in CRM tools; MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
A valid driver’s license is required.
Given the regional nature of the position, the incumbent should be prepared to spend approximately 50% of
the working month traveling across the Western Cape. This may include multi-day trips, time in remote locations, and regular overnight stays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Relationship Management & Retention
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key accounts to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Identify and implement opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and value-added solutions.
Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
In-Market Execution & Travel
Extensive weekly travel is required, including prolonged overnight stays, to effectively cover the full territory:
West Coast, Central Karoo, Overberg, Cape Winelands, Garden Route, and the Cape Metropole.
Conduct regular store visits, trade engagements, and execution audits across the assigned customer portfolio to ensure alignment with commercial and merchandising standards.
Identify execution gaps, monitor competitor activity, and uncover growth opportunities to drive improved
customer performance and market share.
Service Delivery, Reviews & Issue Resolution
Resolve customer issues promptly, ensuring root-cause analysis and preventative action.
Conduct structured monthly customer review meetings, covering performance, service delivery, and commercial outcomes.
Ensure all meetings are documented with clear action plans, ownership, and follow-through.
Business Development & Commercial Performance
Achieve revenue and profit targets within the assigned account portfolio.
Drive product mix optimisation and increase strategic SKU penetration.
Identify and convert new business opportunities within existing accounts and target markets.
Support the rollout of new products, including customer onboarding, training, and performance tracking.
Apply value-based selling techniques to align solutions with customer needs and growth objectives.
Forecasting, Planning & Reporting
Own and manage accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting.
Analyse customer performance, trends, and opportunities to inform decision-making.

Maintain high levels of accountability for all customer commitments and internal processes.
Identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
