Job Summary
An established industrial and engineering-focused organisation is seeking a Marketing Officer to join its marketing team in Johannesburg.
This role is ideal for a creative and highly organised marketing professional with strong experience in exhibitions, events, trade media advertising, brand management, and graphic design. The successful candidate will play a key role in executing marketing initiatives that enhance brand visibility, support customer engagement, and contribute to lead generation activities.
The position offers exposure to large-scale exhibitions, industry events, and integrated marketing campaigns within a dynamic B2B environment.
Duties include
Exhibitions, Conferences & Events
- Plan, coordinate and execute participation in exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, customer events and industry engagements.
- Manage all event logistics, supplier coordination, timelines, stand requirements and marketing collateral.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on event objectives and messaging.
- Ensure all exhibition and event branding complies with corporate identity standards.
- Manage allocated exhibitions and internal events from planning through to execution.
- Coordinate post-event reporting, feedback and content collection.
Trade Media Advertising
- Coordinate advertising placements across industry publications, both print and digital.
- Liaise with media partners and publishers regarding schedules, specifications and deadlines.
- Coordinate the development and submission of advertising artwork and editorial content.
- Maintain advertising schedules and campaign documentation.
- Ensure advertising aligns with marketing objectives and brand standards.
Brand Management
- Support the implementation and consistent application of the corporate brand across all marketing activities.
- Coordinate branded merchandise, promotional items, corporate gifts and branded apparel.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and brand compliance.
- Support customer-facing brand initiatives and marketing campaigns.
Graphic Design & Marketing Collateral
- Design and update brochures, catalogues, price lists, corporate profiles, technical documents and exhibition materials.
- Create artwork for print and digital marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate printing, production and distribution of marketing materials.
- Ensure all collateral complies with approved brand guidelines.
Digital Marketing Support
- Assist with digital marketing campaigns by creating and coordinating content.
- Support website updates related to events, product launches and promotions.
- Assist with social media content planning and scheduling.
- Support public relations activities, media communications and editorial content.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales and other departments to support customer engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal marketing team members to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Maintain accurate records of marketing activities, campaigns and events.
- Support integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital platforms.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years' marketing experience within a B2B, technical, engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience managing exhibitions, conferences, trade shows and corporate events.
- Strong graphic design experience.
