Job Summary
Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing customers, providing support, information and guidance.
Visit distributors and installers on a regular basis, ensuring that our service levels are met.
Identify and visit commercial sites (Complexes, Business developments, Office parks, etc.) to set up meetings and present access control solutions to the relevant stakeholders.
Ensure that Branch Sales Targets are met monthly.
Provide structured and detailed feedback /call reports to the Branch Manager.
Promote, plan and present training courses and product presentations, diligently.
Give feedback on competitors, pricing, new products, marketing etc.
Address product issues that arise from customer visits, and ensure that queries are properly addressed and that feedback is given to the relevant parties.
Research leads for new customers for company products and make successful contact
Ensure that you are up to date with new and existing products.
Assist with internal sales/training (processing of orders, handling queries and customer complaints etc.)
Check and ensure that existing and potential clients’ details are correct and updated on the database.
Contribute to the team effort – participating in the morning MBU meetings and ensure that all departments are seen in a “good light” by our clients, by addressing issues and ensuring that there is excellent inter-departmental communication.
Assist with ad-hoc duties from time to time, such as stock take & deliveries.
Assist the technical department with an occasional site visit to assess a product failure or incorrect installation.
Business partner activities include but not limited to – Marketing & Promotions, Training,
Geographical area growth, Business development.
Plan & Coordinate Distributor & Area sales strategies to assist with business development.
Required qualifications:
A minimum of matric with a basic knowledge and/or understanding of both electronic or mechanical
equipment
At least 1-2 years’ experience in a technical sales environment
Reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license
Functional skills:
Proven experience in the sales environment (selling, negotiations, promotional activities)
Technical orientation (electronic/mechanical)
Computer literate (MS Office Suite) with some exposure to a recognised ERP system
In possession of a valid drivers’ licence
Able to work overtime if and when required
