Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven External Technical Sales Representative with proven success in industrial and technical sales environments. The ideal candidate must have 6–8 years of external sales experience within industries such as industrial chemicals, manufacturing, engineering, steel, mining, fabrication, powder coating, electroplating, surface finishing, or related technical sectors.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships, growing and managing a sales territory, identifying new business opportunities, recovering dormant accounts, and providing solution-based technical sales support. This role requires regular customer visits, strong communication, effective route planning, structured reporting, and professional customer engagement.
Candidates must be proactive, disciplined, resilient, organised, and capable of working independently while delivering excellent customer service and technical support. Strong relationship-building skills, professionalism, accountability, urgency, and the ability to handle pressure and objections are essential.
Requirements include Matric, a valid driver’s license, stable employment history, and competency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and CRM systems. Technical qualifications and an existing customer network will be advantageous.
