About the Role
We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused IT Technician to join a dynamic retail technology environment for our client in Paarl. This role focuses primarily on computer diagnostics, repairs, and technical support for a range of consumer IT products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying hardware issues, performing repairs, and assisting customers with technical queries. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact directly with customers to explain issues and solutions in a clear and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripheral issues.
Perform repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on desktops, laptops, and related IT equipment.
Conduct hardware diagnostics to identify faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
Install or replace hardware components such as RAM, storage drives, power supplies, and other internal components.
Assist customers by explaining technical problems and recommended solutions in a clear and professional manner.
Test repaired devices to ensure functionality and reliability before returning them to customers.
Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
Stay up to date with new hardware technologies and repair techniques.
Minimum Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent IT hardware qualification is highly preferred.
Demonstrable hands-on experience in computer hardware diagnostics and repairs.
Practical knowledge of desktop and laptop components, troubleshooting, and hardware replacement.
Fluent in both English and Afrikaans to effectively communicate with customers.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to explain technical information to customers in a clear and customer-friendly manner.
