Are you the person who notices when something does not quite add up?
We are looking for a highly analytical, curious and detail-oriented individual to join our business as an Internal Polygrapher.
This opportunity may particularly suit an experienced retailer who understands the realities of store operations and is ready to apply that experience in a different way.
It is an office-based specialist role that requires a high degree of self-management, independence and the ability to perform intellectually challenging work.
We are not necessarily looking for someone who fits the traditional stereotype of an investigator.
We are looking for someone who is calm, objective and methodical. Someone who enjoys solving problems, understanding people, analysing information and getting to the truth.
The type of person we are looking for
You may be the right person for this role if you:
Have extensive experience in retail and genuinely understand store operations;
Naturally notice inconsistencies and want to understand why something does not make sense;
Enjoy analysing information, patterns, behaviour and data;
Are extremely detailed, thorough and methodical;
Are a strong problem solver and analytical thinker;
Can work independently and manage your own workload effectively;
Enjoy intellectually challenging work;
Are naturally inquisitive without immediately jumping to conclusions;
Can remain calm, neutral and objective when dealing with difficult or sensitive matters;
Are a strong listener who knows how to ask the right follow-up questions;
Have the emotional intelligence to build rapport with people from different backgrounds;
Are discreet and comfortable handling highly confidential information;
Have a strong personal commitment to honesty, fairness and integrity;
Are comfortable preparing detailed, accurate and professional reports.
This role provides an opportunity to use that experience in a completely different way.
Rather than managing the daily pressures of a store or operational region, you will apply your knowledge to investigate complex situations, assess information, identify inconsistencies and work towards objective conclusions.
You may also come from a background in:
The field you come from is less important than the way you think.
What the role involves

The role will include:
Reviewing the background and available information relating to each matter;
Understanding the facts, allegations and areas requiring clarification;
Conducting structured pre-test interviews;
Developing relevant and appropriate examination questions;
Conducting polygraph examinations in accordance with recognised professional standards;
Analysing examination results carefully and objectively;
Identifying inconsistencies or areas requiring further investigation;
Preparing clear, accurate and professional reports;
Maintaining detailed and confidential case records;
Working closely with relevant internal stakeholders while remaining neutral and objective;
Travelling when required to conduct examinations across the business.
Qualifications and development
We are open to candidates who are already suitably qualified and experienced, as well as exceptional individuals with the right background and personal profile who have the potential to be professionally trained for the role.
