Job Summary
The Retail Branch Manager will lead and manage the total operations of the retail branch in order to achieve sales, profitability, stock, customer service, compliance, and people management objectives.
Responsibilities:
The Branch Manager is accountable for the effective day-to-day management of the branch, ensuring that company policies, operational controls, merchandising standards, and financial disciplines are consistently applied:
- Branch Leadership and People Management: Lead, manage, and motivate branch staff to achieve branch objectives and performance standards
- Sales and Branch Performance Management: Drive branch sales performance in line with budget, targets, and strategic objectives.
- Customer Service Management: Maintain high customer service standards within the branch
- Stock Management and Inventory Control: Manage stock holding levels in line with company policy, branch requirements, and budget.
- Financial Control and Branch Administration: Manage all branch financial and administrative processes accurately and timeously.
- Operational Management: Oversee the effective day-to-day running of the branch.
- Merchandising and Housekeeping: Implement and maintain company merchandising principles, visual display standards, and promotional execution.
- Loss Control, Risk, and Security: Manage branch loss control processes to reduce stock loss, shrinkage, and financial risk
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety standards.
- Stock Take Management: Prepare the branch for stock take in accordance with company requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Sales, or a related field will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ retail experience, of which at least 3 years should be in a supervisory or branch management role
- Proven track record in managing sales, stock, staff, and branch operations
- Experience in budgeting, reporting, and branch financial controls
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and retail / ERP systems
- Own transport is essential (and drivers licence)
The role requires a hands-on Branch Manager, who leads by example.
This role is based in Hermanus and is required to work retail trading hours, including weekends, public holidays, stock takes, and extended trading periods where operationally required.
