Requirements
- Registered Professional Nurse with Occupational Health Nursing (Diploma or Degree).
- Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Certificate in Dispensing, Audiometry, Spirometry & Vision. Dispensing Licence for the site is required.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an occupational health environment, preferably within the
manufacturing industry.
- Sound knowledge of occupational health legislation, COIDA, and medical surveillance standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary & occupational health care services to employees in line with legislative & industry
requirements.
- Conduct & manage medical surveillance programmes (pre-employment, periodic, exit & special
examinations).
- Manage medicine control in accordance with treatment protocols and ensure effective stock control.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records, reports, and statistics.
- Advise management on occupational health risks, trends, and preventative measures.
- Participate in health risk assessments, wellness programmes, and health education initiatives.
- Liaise with external service providers, medical practitioners, and regulatory bodies where required.
- Manage first aid compliance.
- Monitor sick notes and maintain sick leave records.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Skills
- Good communication skills in English both verbal and written.
- Strong administrative, reporting, and communication skills.
- Detail orientated and possess great interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage an on-site clinic.
