Job Summary
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST/ EAST LONDON – The successful Candidate will Design, develop, and deliver learning programs in partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) while supporting change adoption within a dynamic project environment.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management, Education, Training & Development, or a related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in HR, Industrial Psychology, or Education.
- Accredited Facilitator certification (ETDP SETA).
- Prosci Change Management Certification or similar (advantageous for future growth).
- 4 years’ experience in L&D, including design and delivery of training programs.
- Exposure to project management environments and digital learning tools.
Key Competencies
- Strong instructional design, facilitation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure, project-driven environments.
- Basic understanding of change management principles.
- Proficiency in LMS administration and digital learning tools (Articulate, Scribe, Canva, Bob Learn).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning Design & Development
- Conduct basic training needs analysis aligned with project and business priorities.
- Collaborate with SMEs to co-create learning content (classroom, virtual, and e-learning).
- Develop training materials and quick reference guides using tools such as Articulate, Scribe, Canva, and Bob Learn.
- Facilitation & Delivery
- Support SMEs during initial training sessions, ensuring smooth delivery and learner engagement.
- Transition ownership of training delivery after the first tranche, leading refresher sessions and ongoing capability-building workshops.
- Deliver interactive sessions using blended learning approaches under tight timelines.
- Change Enablement (Light-Touch)
- Act as a change support resource, reinforcing key messages and adoption strategies.
- Assist in basic communication and engagement activities to support system rollouts.
- Apply foundational change principles (e.g., awareness, reinforcement) without full-scale Prosci-level execution.
- LMS Administration
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for course uploads, user tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate learner progress data and compliance reporting.
- Continuous Improvement
- Gather learner feedback and update content for relevance and impact.
- Support the evolution of L&D practices toward digital learning and advanced change management.
Performance Indicators
- Timely delivery of training aligned with project milestones.
- Positive learner and stakeholder feedback.
- Effective LMS management and reporting.
- Demonstrated growth toward advanced L&D and change capabilities.
