Job Summary:
We are actively seeking safety-conscious and recently qualified individuals to join our Health and Safety team as Junior Health and Safety Administrators under the YES (Youth Employment Service) initiative. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for young talents interested in occupational health and safety to gain hands-on experience and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment within the construction machinery industry.
Responsibilities:
Safety Inspections:
Safety Training Support:
- Gain exposure to supporting safety training sessions for employees.
- Assist in organizing training materials and coordinating training logistics.
Incident Reporting:- Learn to assist in the documentation of safety incidents and near misses.
- Contribute to the analysis of incidents to identify root causes.
Emergency Response Coordination:- Assist in coordinating emergency response drills and procedures.
- Learn to maintain emergency response equipment and supplies.
Documentation and Record Keeping:- Assist in maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
- Contribute to the organization of documentation related to health and safety.
Collaboration with Teams:- Work closely with Health and Safety professionals and different departments to promote safety awareness.
- Contribute to effective communication within the Health and Safety team.
Preferred Skills:- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
- Participation in relevant coursework or training programs.
Requirements:
- Recent completion of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34.
- Must not have taken part in the YES Programme before.
- Be currently unemployed
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Interest in occupational health and safety.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
