Job Summary
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing or BTech in Clinical Technology.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Technologist (Independent Practice).
Experience
- 1–2 years' dialysis experience in a haemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis unit.
- Experience operating dialysis equipment and water treatment systems.
- Experience in the management of patients with chronic kidney disease.
- Experience in patient education and counselling.
- Knowledge and application of quality improvement and risk management principles.
Knowledge
Working knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and professional standards, including:
- National Health Act
- Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
- Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- SANC/HPCSA ethical rules and scope of practice
